Using Textures at Totally Stampalicious!

Happy Totally Stampalicious Monday to you all! This week the gals have issued a "TEXTURES" challenge...we want to see any sort of texture on your projects - fabric, embossing etc.

For my card I used Stella Birthday - this gal cracks me up every time I "stamp her to life." For my "texture," I dry embossed the brown panel behind Stella and added some green/white baker's twine. She makes me smile - and I hope I made you smile too :)

Stamping With Sami Challenge #7: Love Theme!

OFFICIAL STAMPING WITH SAMI CHALLENGE RULES:

Our Stamping With Sami (SWS) challenges are designed to inspire beginner and advanced stampers. We focus on SP and Company Stamps and supplies found in the SP Store because we know our products are fantastic and I am sure you would agree!

We want our challenges to be super fun for everyone, keeping the following rules in mind:

1. Entries must clearly identify SWS Challenge in their blog post or gallery entry so that we KNOW you are playing along with the SWS Challenge. Link back to us, list us as part of your description, etc. Make it clear that you are participating in our challenge or else your entry will be deleted from the linky widget. We don't want our challenge to be the last thing you list in tiny print, we want to be the inspiration for your creation.

2. Entries to our challenges must use at least ONE SP and Co. Stamp.

3. Your creation must be newly created, specifically for our challenge.

4. We love other challenges, just like the rest of you, but there comes a time when the challenge madness gets out of hand. So to curb excessive challenge pile-ups: Entries that enter more than 2 other challenges will be removed.

5. Of course, entries must follow the guidelines given for the actual challenge also.

For my "Love Theme" card, I really wanted to incorporate some wonderful LIPS that Sami sent me to play with...I got busy and found some wonderful papers from my Echo Park "Yours Truly" 6 x 6 Designer papers, an older sketch from My Favorite Things - Wednesday Stamp Club and some twine and got to work:

Stampin' With Sami #6 - Stamp Kissing Technique!

Welcome back my crafty PEEPS!! I hope you are enjoying your Sunday - I know I am! As you are reading this, my DH and I are enjoying a dinner theatre weekend away! Sure is nice to have some time with him as he works away A LOT, and it's good to re-connect with each other!

This week's Stamping With Sami Challenge really had me stumped for a bit - so glad she made me step out of my comfort zone! I have never done this technique before, but after I did it - it's soooo easy!

Stamping With Sami Challenge #6: Kissing Technique!

When you are doing the Stamp Kissing technique, you need a solid stamp (makes it easier to see the other stamp) so I dug out my go-to fave...Flourishee! I also used Big Bold Background for my "kissing" stamp and Just a Note for the sentiment. I stamped Flourishee in Melon Mambo and stamped the Big Bold Background stamp in black. I then took the Flourishee stamp and "kissed" it to the black one and this is what came of it (looks purple on pink hey?!):

Today brings a challenge that I do not find very easy, but that's why it's called a CHALLENGE, right?!? Today we want to see Clean and Simple projects at the Totally Stampalicious Challenge Blog. You up for it?

For my card, I decided to use a sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping, an awesome source of CAS sketches to use as your starting point:

I wanted to dig through my stash of wonderful TS sets and find one that I haven't used in quite some time. Welcome back my crafty PEEPS!! I hope you are enjoying your Sunday - I know I am! Sure is nice to relax and get back into my craft room today...which brings me to the reason you are - Stamping With Sami Challenge #5: Rock 'n Roll Technique!

I find that doing the Rock 'n Roll Technique is a lot easier when you use a solid stamp, so I "knew" right away which stamp set to dig out and get inky - Flourishee! I also incorporated 2 other stamp sets on my card: Musical Background and Just a Note...take a look:

One For The Boys - Mr. Fix It!!

Hello everyone! I'm not sure about you Alberta folks, but I am sure glad to be out of that WICKED, WICKED deep freeze we were in this past week! Wowza! Old Man Winter came out with a vengeance hey?! The wind chills were -50C and the highs during the day were -35C or so! Brrrrr!!! I sure took full advantage of the "no school" days and hunkered down with my kids, got busy in my craft room and tried to stay warm!!

In The Summertime.....at 4 Crafty Chicks!

Welcome back everyone! Our hostess-with-the-mostess this week over at 4 Crafty Chicks is our wonderful Tamie! She has been down-and-out with this nasty cold/flu bug that has been going around - here's hoping you are back to your healthy, normal, perky self, Tamie!

Tamie has issued a "SUMMER IN JANUARY" challenge this week...I know that I am dreaming of summer with the deep freeze we are sitting in right now in central Alberta! BRRRRRR!!! What I like most about summertime is the bright, cheery flowers and the sunshine - and to my surprise, a card kit I've been "hoarding" has both of these elements on a card :) Here it is:

Stamping With Sami #1 - Stamp Something!

Happy New Year everyone!

With this new year comes a new "blog lift and revamp" for SP & Company Stamps! Every Sunday, we will be having a new challenge called ‘Stamping with Sami’. I’m pretty excited about it and I hope you will be too!We will showcase a winner when we post our next challenge, and that crafter is going to win some SP Goodness!!

OFFICIAL STAMPING WITH SAMI CHALLENGE RULES:

Our Stamping With Sami (SWS) challenges are designed to inspire beginner and advanced stampers. We focus on SP and Company Stamps and supplies found in the SP Store because we know our products are fantastic and I am sure you would agree! We want our challenges to be super fun for everyone, keeping the following rules in mind:

1. Entries must clearly identify SWS Challenge in their blog post or gallery entry so that we KNOW you are playing along with the SWS Challenge. Link back to us, list us as part of your description, etc. Make it clear that you are participating in our challenge or else your entry will be deleted from the linky widget. We don't want our challenge to be the last thing you list in tiny print, we want to be the inspiration for your creation.
2. Entries to our challenges must use at least ONE SP and Company Stamp.
3. Your creation must be newly created, specifically for our challenge.

Something New from 4 Crafty Chicks!!

Happy Thursday PEEPS! How was your Christmas? Ours was filled with wonderful friends and family and lots of fabulous dinners and get-togethers! My hubby, the kids and I have had a nice, relaxing week this week so far - but now I will be running around the house frantically getting everything ready for our New Year's Eve party here on Saturday night! I can't wait - will be a lot of fun celebrating with my Dad, baby sister Jackie and her family and my Aunt and Uncle....

Alrighty - onto this week's challenge from 4 Crafty Chicks! This is a Crazy Egg week as there are 5 Thursdays this month :) For this week's challenge, we want to see "Something New." It can be a new project (kit), embellishment, stamp, paper, spellbinder - you name it, you can use it - AS LONG AS IT'S NEW!

4 Crafty Chicks #69 - Anything But a Square or Rectangle

Good morning everyone!! Are you ready for the big day? Only 3 more sleeps!!! I do believe I am ready - believe it or not! :) This year is not all crazy and busy...we're taking it easy and going to try and squeeze in as many visits as we can with friends and family we don't see very often!

This week's challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks is being hosted by myself and I wanted to try something new (for me anyways). This week, I want to see any project that is NOT a square or rectangle. I have seen so many cool cards made with nestabilities and so I decided to give it a try. My fold at the top of my card is a bit off, but not too bad for my first attempt at it! It was super fast to make and it's adorable!

It was fun doing something a bit out of the ordinary! I cannot WAIT to see all the neat, funky projects that will come out of this challenge! Please check the right-hand sidebar for links to the other Chicks blogs - I know they have some really gorgeous projects to show you!!

Welcome back!! Are you ready for the last color combo of 2011? This one was a lot of fun to work with - I "knew" I could pull off a Christmas card with these colors - I really love it!

Thanks, Samantha, for all the wonderful color challenges for the past year - some of them were easy, peesy...others were a tad challenging! I guess that's why we have them right?! I hope you are all as excited as we are over at SP & Co. - we have some HUGE changes coming in the new year, so please stay tuned!!

For my card this week, I inked up the snowflakes from Falling Snow and made my own background paper. I added gems to the middle of each snowflake for extra sparkle :)

OOOOH! I See Something Shiny at Totally Stampalicious!!

Hi everyone! The theme this week over at Totally Stampalicious is "SPARKLE" - so that means bling, glitter, etc. I couldn't wait to ink up this pair of cutie-patooties and "bling 'em up!" I colored my image with Copic markers and then used my liquid glue to attach some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to various spots on the image. I also drew in a few snow mounds on the bottom of the image to add more glittery snow! I hope you can play along this week!!

SPCC #129 - Celebrate the Season

Welcome back! This week's color combo from SPCC helped me get yet another Christmas card completed and out of the way :) Gotta like it when that happens. Like I've mentioned in past posts, I am attempting to make all my Design Team commitment cards into Christmas cards (no matter what the challenge/color is) and so far, so good!!! Here's Samantha's color palette for the week:

For my card, I inked up Ornamental Trees from SP & Co. in Chocolate Chip ink and stamped them on Pool Party then cut them out and "popped up" the middle tree with dimensionals. I wanted to make the background look as if it was snowing behind the trees, so I used Swiss Dots embossing folder for that effect...The sentiment is from Cutest Gingerbread Man (also an SP & Co. stamp set).

Hello crafty PEEPS! Welcome back to MONDAY! Boy, did central Alberta ever get hit last Thursday/Friday with a winter snowfall! First major one of the year - we should be used to it by now you would think :) My daughter had a competitive swim meet in Edmonton this past weekend and she did phenomenal - I am so proud of her!!

Happy Thursday! Well, as I type this, the snow is falling - HARD! We are under a winter storm warning all across northern/central Alberta with amounts of 10-20 cm of snow expected. Of course, it wouldn't be "too bad" if it was just snow, however, that nasty thing called WIND is scheduled to show up today too! UGH! Visibility will be next to nothing. Stay safe out there PEEPS!

Good morning crafty PEEPS! After a lovely week off of school, the kids are back at school today and I'm glad to be back into my routine...although, it was really, really nice to sleep in and not worry about lunches etc. Approximately one month to go, and then we're on Christmas break! :)

This week, Samantha has given us this wonderful, Christmas-y color combo for us to work with (at least, that is what *I* saw - Christmas) LOL! I am so happy to be making Christmas cards - a challenge to myself is to use all color combos in the next little while as Christmas cards - maybe I can get a great jump start on them :) Pretty soon, the big day will be here and we will wonder where the time went....

For my card, I decided to stamp and paper piece one of my Pure Innocence winter cuties and cut her out with circle nesties, layered on scalloped circle...I added some texture with a snowflake Cuttlebug folder and then some wonderful bling and dazzling diamonds! This week at Scrapmaster's Paradise, our color combo is a soft, pastel-y one :) My sister was here for the weekend and when I asked her "what should I stamp with these colors?" she promptly said, "ornaments!" Ohhhhh....so I ran to my stamp cupboard and grabbed my stamp set of fancy ornaments and my snowflake embossing folder - here is the finished product:

I had a lot of fun crafting with my sister this weekend - she doesn't get much free time to do it and my kids helped out a lot so that she "could" stamp with me :) Thanks again, Jackie!!

Hello everyone! I have had such a great weekend...my DH surprised us and came home for a couple days (was supposed to be gone for a month), my youngest sister, Jackie, and the kiddos are here for a visit and we got to do some much-needed Christmas card making! :) She is bathing the kids now and after they go to bed, we will commence the crafty-ness and see how many more we can make! YIPPEEE!

Welcome back PEEPS! Are you ready for another AWESOME color challenge from Scrapmaster's Paradise?! I am gearing up for Christmas and I'm *trying* to make as many Christmas cards as I can from now until the end of November - and this color combo fit the bill perfect!!! I decided to ink up Samantha's lovely Ornamental Trees, Falling Snow and The Cutest Gingerbread sets to make a scene for Christmas.....

I also embossed the background with the snowflake embossing folder from Stampin' Up! and added glitter to the snow, and outlined the trees. You might have to click on the picture to see it better.

Happy Halloween from us at Totally Stampalicious! Any big plans for tonight?! My kids are getting to that age where they don't "trick-or-treat" anymore so I think they are just planning to stay home...We live quite a ways out in the country and we don't get many kids (if any), so I don't even have to buy a lot of candy! Lucky me ... LOL.

Happy Monday folks! Today is a little bit of a bittersweet day for me. Megan from Picture Perfect Creations has decided to take a little break from blogging challenges until the new year and although it was an extremely difficult decision for her, I know she will love the time she will get to spend with her ADORABLE little man and hubby!

She made a Christmas card (I will show it on my blog another time) and she also had this little man laying beside the work station! How convenient that he was colored in this color combination!?!? I asked her if she minded if I used her image that she colored and she was "TICKLED!" So, thanks, my dear daughter...Kim....for helping me in a bind :) The sentiment is from The Cutest Gingerbread set from Sp & Co., stamps!

Taking Notes at Totally Stampalicious!

Hello everyone! How was the weekend? Mine was awesome - DH was home after being gone for 2 weeks, so it was nice to have some family time with him! I spent most of the weekend putting some baking and meals in the freezer and we visited with some great people - couldn't ask for a better weekend (well, didn't spend enough time in the craft room though...LOL)

Happy Monday folks! How was the weekend? Mine was super busy!! I had my nephew and 2 nieces (all under the age of 6), since Thursday afternoon so my baby sister and BIL could go to Jasper for a belated Anniversary weekend :) They played me right out! I forget what it's like having wee ones under foot - thank goodness my 2 kids were here to give me a hand *wink* Jackie is here this morning to pick them up so tonight, will be an early bedtime for this super-exhausted Aunty! LMBO!

Well, as you can see from my photo, I had a very big DUH moment last week when I was trying to get ahead on all my DT submissions - and while cyber crafting with my good PEEP, Leanne, she said to me "that sure doesn't look like Daffodil though - looks like Saffron." And I sat there in my head saying "Uhhhh...ya, of course it is!" LOL...I didn't notice that I used the wrong yellow *head hung in shame* So, I apologize - make sure you use Daffodil Delight! :)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian PEEPS! As this post goes live, I am in southern Alberta visiting my Dad for the weekend - he wanted to try barbecuing a turkey on the rotisserie! I will let you know how that all went when I get back :)

Totally Stampalicious wants to see some THANKSGIVING or THANK YOU projects this week :) For my card, I chose to ink up "Dottie Desserts" as baking pies was always a family tradition that happened in our family. My Mom used to always make a huge selection: apple, pumpkin, cherry, and blueberry. I, however, am not that adventurous and usually stick to apple or cherry....sometimes pumpkin!

Embossing Challenge at Totally Stampalicious!

Hello everyone! Are you ready for a fun and exciting challenge? Totally Stampalicious is wanting you to do some EMBOSSING this week - yep, heat embossing or dry embossing - your choice! I love this technique - I use dry embossing a lot with my Cuttlebug/Stampin' Up! folders and I also love to heat emboss my images if I am coloring them! Happy Birthday - Halloween Style

Happy Monday everyone! How was everyone's weekend? Mine was absolutely incredible - I got to go with my gym buddy, Melissa, to Banff as she ran in the Melissa's 10K Run!!! There is just something so majestic, breath-taking and calming about the Rocky Mountains...she ran a phenomenal race and I'm so very, very proud of her!! Someday, I'm *hoping* to run along side her!

Alright - onto this week's business! Megan has issued a very pretty color combination for y'all this week :) When I first saw it, I was going to do a Halloween card. However, I do not "do" Halloween much around here so I decided to try and make a different kind of card....it still screams "Halloween" to me but I really like how it turned out and I'm *SURE* that there are people out there who have a birthday on Halloween, RIGHT!?!? *giggle*

4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #56 - FALL

Hello everyone! How's the week going? Getting ready for the weekend? I know I am :) My good friend and gym "buddy," Melissa, is running in a 10k this weekend in Banff and I am tagging along as her cheering squad! I am so excited to go along and encourage her - it just so happens that the name of this run is called "Melissa's Run." Too funny hey?! Hopefully I will have some pic's to show you next week!

OK...now onto this week's challenge...I am the hostess this week and I chose the theme FALL. I love the colors of Autumn and so that is what I decided to base my card on. I found an older sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping that was used at ColourQ last month - along with that, I chose my favorite ColourQ combo to go along with it:

These rich, warm colors are some of my ultimate fav's....I sure hope you get some time to sit and get crafty with us this week - we love to see what you come up with each challenge!

Specialty Challenge at Picture Perfect Creations

Happy Monday! I hope you had an enjoyable weekend :) I had a memorable one to say the least - I participated in my very first 10 km run (Terry Fox Run) yesterday! Let me just say....I bow down to runners - I am just starting out on my jogging/running adventures and it was TOUGH! I am so super stoked that I accomplished this goal ...especially only being 5 short months since I had major surgery! OK...enough tootin' my own horn here - are you ready for another "Specialty" Challenge from Picture Perfect Creations? We want to see 3 different designer papers on your project :)

Tonight I start a fitness class called "Boomba" and it's a combination of Bootcamp and Zumba and I am so excited for that! Although, I'm sure that when it's over, I'll need to do exactly what Bubble Bath Scarlette is doing here:

Happy Thursday! This week over at the 4 Crafty Chicks, Tamie is our hostess-with-da-mostess, and she's issued an "EMBOSSING" challenge!! FUN!!! One of my favorite techniques is to pull out my embossing folders - a card just doesn't seem complete without some sort of embossing on it! :)

Picture Perfect Creations meets Diva Coffee Break

Welcome back on this fine Monday morning! I hope your weekend was a good one - mine was! I went to see Maroon 5 and Train on Saturday night with an awesome group of ladies, and WOOOWEEEE!...what a great concert! If you ever get a chance to go and see these groups, by all means - DO SO!

OK..now onto this week's challenge at Picture Perfect Creations....as you can see above, Megan has put together a very soft, and subtle color palette for you this week. I really enjoy these colors together and I decided to use an older Diva Coffee Break Challenge sketch for my card:

I altered the bottom of the sketch a wee bit because I wanted to show off this gorgeous Wisteria ribbon! By now I am assuming everyone's kids are back in school and you are all back into some sort of routine...It is very strange for me as my kids were homeschooled for the past 2 years and the house seems very empty now. Hello everyone! This week's challenge with Totally Stampalicious is a color combination: ORANGE, PINK and YELLOW...I decided to use Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride and So Saffron and inked up the new Fairy Stella.....the sentiments with this set are absolutely freakin' hilarious!!! I highly recommend it if you have some "witty" friends! :)

Hello everyone! Are you ready for another awesome challenge from the gang over at Totally Stampalicious?! This week, we want to see you use AT LEAST 3 different punches on your card or project. Easy peesy, right!?

For my card, I inked up the cutie patootie, Deacon Swing, which was released on Thursday...and used my picture corner punch and 2 star punches:

Isn't that just a gorgeous color combo? I had a lot of fun making this card - I found a card on Mary Brown's blog that was in black/crumb/vanilla and I just had to CASE it and use Samantha's color combo:

Happy Monday! Can you believe that it's the 15th of August already?!? Where in the world did our summer go? A couple weeks left, and kids go back to school. WOW! My 2 kiddos are at their last bible camp of the summer and I am enjoying a bit of "Lori" time :)

This week over at Picture Perfect Creations, Megan has issued us such a gorgeous color palette that I really cannot WAIT to see what all you come up with! I first thought "flowers" when I saw this combo, so that is what I did:

Totally Stampalicious wants YOU!

We are currently looking for FOUR NEW ARTISTS to join our AWESOME DESIGN TEAM!!
Interested applicants will please send us THREE SAMPLES including at least ONE BRAND NEW SAMPLE!
As all of our stamps are line drawn images, we do recommend that you feature your coloring skills in card samples as well!

Totally Stampalicious is a fun and relaxed company to design for and there are some really great benefits to go along with a few expectations!

~ DT Members choose only the stamps they WANT to design with.

~ We ask that at least TWO cards or projects are made with each stamp set selected
(so if you chose every set from a 4 set release you would have to create 8 samples within a 2 month period)
~ Digis will also be provided if DT members prefer to work with that format (only ONE card or project is expected if you only choose the digi)

~ DT Members are expected to participate in ALL Release Blog Hops and most TS Monday Challenges

SPCC #112 - Love

Welcome back to another color challenge from Scrapmaster's Paradise! I have to tell you...this combo STUMPED ME, BAD!!!! I wasted a lot of paper and time on this one 'cuz it just wasn't right with every stamp set I tried. I finally settled on the I Love Love set from SP & Co. and I am fairly happy with this one. I'm not sure which color threw me off more - the Melon or the Suede....I love the new Island Indigo, but altogether - it threw me off! Great challenge, Samantha! :) I can't wait to see all the entries so I can have more ideas!

Happy Monday! It's that time already - yep, Megan over at Picture Perfect Creations has another "interesting" color combo for you to try your hand at! I struggled with this one a wee bit - so I added some grey in the mix. After I mucked with a few different stamp sets, I was happy with how this turned out. I used an older Clean and Simple sketch for my layout.

Stamps: Aviary, Hope Blooms (Verve); Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Bashful Blue, More Mustard, Peach Parfait; Ink: Basic Gray, Peach Parfait, Bashful Blue; Accessories: tulip border embossing folder, birds and blooms embossing folder, paper piercer, dimensionals, pearls

Musical Creations at Totally Stampalicious!!!!

Hello to all my crafting friends! How was your weekend? Mine was fairly quiet - got the laundry all caught up and some baking done. I also spent today in my craft room trying to get ahead on some Design Team commitments :) Felt pretty good to get inky again!

This week's challenge for Totally Stampalicious is a FUN one! "Inspired by Music" is our challenge to you this week and that is open to all sorts of interpretation and FUN!!!

For my card, I decided to ink up Stella in the sleigh. I used musical paper but also, the image itself reminds me of the Christmas carol, Jingle Bells :) I hope you enjoy her as much as I did making her - I found the awesome paper at my friends local scrapbook store.
